• 5 TOP ATTRACTIONS WORTH VISITING IN NORTH LONDON

    Alexandra Palace, London

North London is an exotic destination that brings that best of both old and modern world. It is where you see the perfect union of the past with the present. While at one hand there are historic buildings that speak volumes of the rich culture and heritage of the place, standing close to them are the contemporary structures that house some of the popular commercial areas of the city.  From lush green hilly parks to grand buildings, North London has lots to explore. A visit to this part of the world is incomplete unless you see the following North London attractions:

    ALEXANDRA PALACE

The Ally Pally opened in 1873 and it was considered as the Victorian people’s palace at that time. The best thing about this place is that it offers panoramic views of the city. BBC took over the Alexandra Palace and made the world’s first ever television broadcast from this site in 1936. The site is now used for various sports events, performances, and exhibitions. It is home to a boating lake, an ice rink, and a deer enclosure.

    CAMDEN PASSAGE

When shopping is your thing, there’s no place better than the Camden Passage. It was once completely dedicated to antiques shopping, but narrow lanes of Camden Passage have a wide range of specialist shops, and there are weekly market stalls set up every Wednesday and Saturday.

You can find here almost everything ranging from African waistcoats, designer wools, vintage clothes, period crockery, Japanese prints, high-quality chocolates, and Japanese prints. Apart from the specialized shops, you will also find some pubs and cafes where you can pause, relax and get some refreshments after a tiring day out shopping.

    EMIRATES STADIUM

A must visit for the sports enthusiasts; the Emirates Stadium owned by Arsenal Football Club was established in 1886. Since its opening, it has become a major highlight of life in North London. The sports stadium currently has a capacity of 60,000 seats and its new location is situated to the Holloway Road. Anybody who visits North London should also take a tour of this stadium and the Arsenal Museum.

    THE ESTORICK COLLECTION

Those with the love for Italian art must take a tour of the Estorick Collection, which houses antiques and masterpieces by Eric Estorick, the American art dealer. In this art gallery, you get to see 20th-century Italian artwork by the Modigliani, Futurists, and de Chirico. If you are lucky, you might just get to visit one of the exhibitions, and don’t forget to drop into the little garden café.

    BRUCE CASTLE

This awesome North London attraction sprawling across a 20-acre park offers something for everyone, so don’t forget to check out this one. The 16th-century manor house has been altered to become a large museum, which houses memorabilia from the history of Haringey. It also houses a children’s playground and a wide range of sports facilities for the young and young at heart.  The site also houses a 16th-century red-brick tower which was perhaps built to house the hunting birds.
